The procedure of removing ear wax is called Microsuction. Unlike syringing where water is pushed into the ear, Microsuction is a method where the probe extracts the wax from the blocked ear canal. The Audiologist will use an Otoscope to examine your ear and a probe to “suction” your ear. It is a noisy procedure, but it is not painful. You are required to soften the wax before your appointment, using Earol or other oil based products.
